Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Northern Virginia?+
It depends on where you live and what the work involves. Fairfax County and Arlington County generally do not require a permit to replace shingles without changing the deck, but both require permits for larger decking replacements, and Alexandria's historic districts need design review. We confirm the rules for your address before we start.
How long does a roof replacement take?+
Most homes are finished in one to three working days once materials arrive. We give you a start window in your proposal and a backup date in case of weather.
Is the inspection really free?+
Yes. We provide free roof inspections and written estimates for Northern Virginia homeowners.
What happens if you find rotted decking during the job?+
We stop work in that area, photograph the damage and send you a change order showing quantity and price. We do not do extra work until you approve it in writing.
Can you help with an insurance claim after storm damage?+
We document the damage with dated photos, price the repair to the approved scope and submit supplements for hidden damage. We do not negotiate claims for you or waive deductibles.
How do I know which shingle option to choose?+
Your proposal includes good, better and best systems with product names, warranties and total prices side by side, so you can compare before you decide.
Can you repair a roof in the rain?+
We can tarp an active leak in wet weather to protect your home. Permanent repairs are done when the roof is dry so materials bond and seal correctly.
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?+
If there is an active leak, protect the home first and take photos. Then contact your insurer to start a claim. We can inspect and document the damage at any point.
